Public companies will soon learn when they must begin filing their financial reports in the XBRL format. Last month’s highly anticipated SEC meeting was pushed to May 14, the new date that Chairman Christopher Cox is expected to lay out the timetable for mandates. David Blaszkowsky, Director, Office of Interactive Disclosure, Securities and Exchange Commission, said the open meeting “will be the start of a process to enable widespread use of interactive data tags resulting in greater transparency, accuracy and granularity of information in the marketplace.” The SEC meeting is open to the public.  To listen in, go to the Commission’s Web site at www.sec.gov.
